Turning rocks over to see what fun things he finds |
Today we had another non-school day. This is our last week before we start our formal studies.
I love our non-school days. It helps me to better understand "unschooling." Although I must admit that I don't know how to unschool in the later grades, I do know how to do it with my Kindergartner.
Today we headed out to a nearby park. Even after living in my area for over nine years, it still amazes me that I haven't visited all of our nearby parks. I learned about today's park through a friend of mine.
My children enjoy searching in the creek for fish, crayfish, frogs, or any other fun creatures. According to my older son, this was the best place to see crayfish. He was right!
Here are some of the photos I took of our adventure today.

I heard this noise above my ears and wondered what it was. When I looked up I saw this baby squirrel eating a nut. |

Until today, I had never heard of disc golf. I've filed the information away for a possible homeschool P.E. class. |
 |
My younger son wants to do everything his older brother does, including climbing this hill. He tried, but ended up sliding down on his belly. |
 |
My children love trains. I was really hoping one would come by, but it didn't. |
It was a beautiful day!

I love spending days at the park. The older kids pack up a couple of subjects and we just enjoy being outside!

We love that park- we call it the train track park. That big hill is a killer when you're riding a bike and pulling the little bike trailer. Yikes. My legs still hurt from last week!

It's also a killer when you have a 5-yr-old insisting you run up the hill with him. :-)
