How Homeschooling Has Blessed Me - Part 1

Remember to "Pin" this post so you can share it with others.

People often talk about the benefits of homeschooling as it concerns the child. For the next several days I'd like to share another perspective on homeschooling; how it has blessed me as the parent.

Today I'd like to talk to you about friendships; friendships that may never have occurred in my life had I not decided to homeschool.

Last week was a really rough week. My father-in-law passed away and in the midst of it all I became sick; so sick that I couldn't attend my father-in-law's funeral. That was emotionally difficult for me as I wanted to be there to support my husband.

A couple of years ago I, along with a friend, started a homeschool support group. Through this group I have been able to form friendships that I consider such a huge blessing in my life. I asked for their prayer of healing and they prayed. Another family was kind enough to take my sons to the funeral. Finally, the flowers pictured above were given to me by this lovely group of friends during a time when my family and I needed some sunshine.

Homeschooling has been one of the greatest blessings in my life because of the friendships it has brought to my life and I want to take this moment to tell all of this wonderful group of moms: THANK YOU! Thank you for being there for me when I needed you most. Thank you for the love and for the flowers. I love you all and I thank God for each and every one of you.

  2. Sorry to hear about your father-in-law!!! I know exactly how you feel. My father-in-law died in February and my many homeschooling friends brought food to the funeral home. You're right homeschooling really does bless us too.
