Dear Homeschool Mom:
I know there are days when you just want to quit. Being a homsechool mom can be emotionally draining.
How many times haven't you asked yourself, "Wouldn't my children be better off attending a public school? Then I wouldn't have to deal with the tantrums, the arguing, and the sibling conflicts, not to mention the disorganization I see in every part of my house."
Mom, you are making a huge sacrifice every single day, but it's a sacrifice worth making.
I know you have days when you're filled with doubts, wondering if this is the right thing to do, worrying if you're not doing enough, or if you're doing too much.
Get down on your knees, and pray to the Lord. Ask Him for this one thing, "Lord, wherever I fail, please deliver."
Sometimes you wonder if you'd have a better relationship with your children if they weren't being homeschooled.
Your children have never needed you more than they do today.
Maybe you find yourself envying those moms who don't homeschool.
Those moms may be envying you.
At times, you find yourself fantasizing about all of those vacations you can't afford to take.
Vacations are fleeting; investment in your children's lives is not.
Mom, I want to leave you with this.
You are exactly where God intended you to be from the moment you were first conceived.
This is His purpose for you for this season of your life. Have faith in Him who created you and planted this seed within you. Lean on Him throughout this journey. He will "never leave you nor forsake you." (Deut. 31:6)
May the Lord sprout fruitfulness throughout yours and your children's lives.
Finish the race homeschool mom, you can do it! And when you cross that finish line, grab that trophy of faithfulness!

These are good reminders. I've been at this since 1995 and still need to hear it. ~smile~

ReplyDeleteYou're welcomed Heather. Come back and visit.
DeleteYesterday was a terrible day. I had to give in/up a little and just let the kids do what they wanted for most of the day. This arctic weather is making life very difficult. Thank you for your words of encouragement.
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems that this time of the year tends to get difficult as children (and moms) tend to suffer from cabin fever. I think that's why God led me to write this post now.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come back again. I'll be writing a series of posts related to having sons.
