Remember to "Pin" this post so you can share it with others.

with the beginning of a new year, what better time is there than now to make some new changes, starting with my website.

the first change you'll notice is this new look to my writing. yes, i know sentences should begin with a capital letter, but recently i visited a website in which the author wrote all of her posts using only lowercase letters; i really enjoyed the look of it...kind of trendy, in my opinion. you may or may not agree with me. feel free to share your opinion below in the comments area.

second, i will be sharing more about our daily lives, both in words and pictures. this will give you an insider's look into the life of a family who happens to homeschool.

on that note, you may be happy to know that i plan on being more "real" with you. i'm not implying that i wasn't real before, only that i was more cautious about what i shared and did not share. i believe it is time for you to get to know me better which means that the struggles i kept to myself; well, i plan on being more open about them because i know that i am not the only one who has struggles (in parenting, homeschooling, or life in general).

i hope this won't scare you away.

besides the subject of homeschooling, i will be sharing other thoughts with you on various topics including parenting, faith, health, etc. in hopes of being able to have more "conversations" with you. so this will be the place we can come together to chat about those topics too. (note: the best way we can have a conversation is by you leaving me a comment in the "comment" section of my blog. i do my best to respond to all comments.)

under consideration is the revamping of my website. what do you think? do you like the way it currently looks, or do you think it's time for a change? have some fun with this by taking the poll found on the top, left-hand side of this page.

i'm looking forward to another year with all of you along with some fun, meaningful conversations!

 ~happy new year!

  1. Sorry, but the no caps hurts my head and makes it difficult to read. Others may enjoy it, and it is your blog, so if you like it, continue on. The New Year does just scream to mean changes doesn't it. (I also have a strong aversion captcha)

  2. Tess, I have to admit, writing only in lowercase will take some getting used to, if I decide to stick with it, especially when I'm always telling my son, "Don't forget to capitalize the first letter of your sentences." :-)

    Thanks for commenting.

  3. It's more difficult to read when you write in all lowercase. How about you try no punctuation?

  4. I'll be honest and say that I didn't read past the "lowercase because it's trendy" bit. The reason is that it hurts my eyes. It's just like when someone types in large bold letters; it physically hurts to read.

  5. Thank you all for your comments!
