In December, I began a Trim Healthy Mama (THM) support group to help other Trim Healthy Mamas reach their goals. During these meetings, we help each other gain a better understanding of THM, share recipes, and encourage one another. We also have fun!
Would you like to start your own THM Support Group? Here are some tips to help get you started.
- Find other Trim Healthy Mamas in your area. You can do this through the THM Facebook Group page, and/or other groups you belong to. I happen to belong to several homeschool groups so I was able to share information about my THM support group through these sources. Another suggestion is to talk about THM with people you know. You'll be surprised at how many women either know or have heard about THM.
- Decide on a location and a meeting day/time. Due to our busy schedules, we decided to meet every other month. (We are having another meeting this Friday, and I'm really looking forward to it. Make sure you come back to read my post about it next week.)
- Plan out what type of food you'd like everyone to bring (an S, E, or FP). During our first meeting almost everyone brought a Satisfying (S) treat, but we also had an Energizing (E) one. It's best to stick to one or the other.
- Think about what topics you'd like to cover during the meeting and allow time for a question and answer segment. At our first meeting, I demonstrated how to make a Fat Stripping Frappa.
- To add some fun to the meeting, play some games. We played a game in which I would name one of the recipe titles and each person had to guess if it was an S, E, or FP. I would offer hints as we went around the circle. The person with the most correct responses won a small prize.

Having a support group not only helps to keep you on track, but it also helps to motivate you. If you're a Trim Health Mama, then I highly recommend you either start a group (A group can include two or more people.), or that you join one.
Are you part of a THM Group? I know your time is precious, so any comment you share below will be greatly valued.
