I asked my 12-year-old son to write a response to the following question, "What Does Being a Christian Man Mean to You?"
Below, written in his own words, I share my son's perspective. (Please look beyond any grammatical errors; it was his words which were of importance to me.)
Being a Christian Man
Being a Christian man has a meaning, and this is how a Christian man should act.He should reflect Jesus and His love to everyone.
It means:
- Being faithful in everything he does, like being faithful to his wife, and being faithful to others who might need him.
- Being responsible and owning up to things he did wrong.
- Being truthful, not lying to anyone.
- Being helpful, helping others when they need it.
- Being dependent on God, not on others.
It also means:
- Praying to God
- Loving Him
- Showing Him respect
- Listening to Him
And most of all, having faith in God even when it is hard.
These are some of the qualities my son feels are part of being a Christian man.

Have you ever asked your son this question? I know your time is precious, so any comment you share below will be greatly valued.

DeleteThis is a wonderful, thought=provoking idea. My son is only 6, but I have 12 and 13 year old girls, and I can certainly ask them what they think it means to be a Christian woman. I will be interested to see what they come up with.
